Laura and Chris get busy in the studio recording Laura’s new album, Mystical America! Laura has been practicing very hard (about 5-6 hours a day!) for the last couple of months. We are complete in sync on the direction we are headed musically with this album and very excited about all the songs. This is going to be a blast! Joining us in the studio to record tracks for the album are Mary Pitchford on violin, Scott Fuller's orchestral strings, and Diane Grubbe on contemporary and wooden flute. Diane has some amazing flutes that will have a beautiful effect on “Totem’s Whisper” a song we are recording for the album that is about the Tongass Islands and sacred totem poles in Alaska. Her flute sounds like wind blowing through the Totem Poles.
The album will be recorded at Chris’s studio, Mosaic Music. Piano tracks will be recorded at Open Path Studio by Nelson Braxton, (yes, that’s Nelson Braxton of the famous The Braxton Brother’s!) He contributed his piano recording talents for Laura’s CD Pianoscapes for Trails of North America as well.
